The starting point of this Pavilion came from a simple question posed by Khun Ton — Nattapon Techopitch, founder of Looklen Architects — who noticed a “gap” in the experience of visiting an architecture exhibition.

In an event filled with people, materials, and countless brands, why was there still no “common space” that helped visitors begin exploring the show more easily?

What if there were a Pavilion that functioned as a Directory of the exhibition — a space where people could see many different material types coexisting within a single view, comparing, pairing, and reading the Mood & Tone of materials all at once, the way designers actually select materials in real life?

Because in reality, when designers choose materials, we never choose just “one piece.” We choose from the relationships between multiple material types working together as a whole. So why are materials at exhibitions almost always separated by brand?

These questions led to the creation and curation of the “Palette of Materials Pavilion” — a collaboration between Looklen Architects and TTF — to make this Pavilion a shared space that generates synergy among three parties: visitors × designers × exhibitors, giving each a place to exchange perspectives, discover new materials, and enrich the experience of attending the architecture fair.

On the design side, this Pavilion also extends the Zero Waste concept from “The Raw Line Pavilion” in 2025 — a collaboration between Looklen Architects and S ONE GROUP — which assembled aluminum profiles with “no cutting and no drilling” of a single piece. This year, the same set of aluminum profiles has been reassembled once more, becoming the “Palette of Materials Pavilion,” carrying forward the same principle: “no cutting and no drilling,” so that every component can be dismantled, removed, and reused sustainably in the future.
