Patchplay explores the potential of compact laminate — a material known for its thin yet durable properties. To highlight these characteristics, leftover sheets are cut into small modular panels. These modules are then interwoven using a rotatable joint system, forming a woven surface that is both visually dynamic and structurally adaptable.
The result is a flexible, transformable surface that can be applied across various functions — from furniture and partitions to distinctive architectural accents. The modularity not only brings versatility in form but also ensures sustainable use of offcut materials from previous projects.
After the exhibition, Patchplay can be disassembled into material swatches, allowing designers to reuse the components as marketing samples — continuing its lifecycle in a purposeful, creative way.
