The EDL Pavilion was designed around a single guiding principle: showcasing the full potential of products from EDL, Panapast, and Viefe, while embedding sustainability into every decision.
The booth incorporates over 280 laminate panels, each designed to be fully reusable. No cutting, drilling, or material damage was involved anywhere in the construction. By using a clamp-joint system with Compact panels, which are themselves real product samples, every component can be disassembled and returned to the production cycle completely intact.
The ceiling was designed as a woven mesh structure using Yellow Core sample strips, each sized identically to standard product samples, meaning every strip can be cut and put to use after the exhibition.
The art pieces and furniture inside the booth were created to demonstrate the versatility of EDL’s laminate and Compact materials through a range of techniques, including bending, notching, interlocking, and laser cutting. This opens new perspectives on how these materials can be used and reveals the possibilities they hold for design.
The Viefe hardware collection was displayed both as standalone art pieces and as compositional elements within the pavilion backdrop, adding dimension to the way the products are experienced.
The EDL Pavilion is more than an exhibition space. It is a demonstration of sustainable design in practice, one where 100% of the materials are fully recoverable, and a showcase of what EDL, Panapast, and Viefe can offer when design is given room to explore.
